Your gift of needed meals and food items fills empty stomachs and provides hope.
Give meals to our shelters and pantries
Each year, the LSS Food Pantries provide food for more than 2 million meals. Around 450 residents of our Faith Mission and CHOICES shelters are provided with three nutritious meals each day. Donations of prepared meals or food items help to offset our program costs. There are many ways to support our shelter kitchens and pantries!
You can help feed shelter residents by:
- Donating a full or partial prepared meal
- Donating meal kits
- Hosting a food drive
Our current most needed food items include:
- Restaurant/commercial sized prepared foods (shelf stable items, spices)
- Large quantities of fresh, frozen and prepared foods
Food items our shelter kitchens are not able to accept:
- Leftover party or buffet food
- Household quantities of fresh, frozen or prepared foods (LSS Food Pantries can accept)
- Expired food items or items in opened packaging
How to drop off food:
Faith Mission meal and food donations can be dropped off at 245 N. Grant Ave. in Columbus, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please drop off at Dock 1 (see map).
CHOICES meal and food donations must be coordinated in advance as our location is undisclosed. Please contact us!
Faith Mission of Fairfield County meal and food donations can be dropped off at 1681 E. Main St. in Lancaster, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Donated food items can be dropped off at LSS Champion Ave Food Pantry, 1460 S. Champion Ave. in Columbus, Monday through Friday 9 a.m.- 12 p.m., excluding holidays.
Food can be dropped off at LSS Fairfield County Food Pantry at 2045 E Main St. in Lancaster, Tuesdays and Fridays from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Thursdays from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Our current most needed items include:
- Spaghetti sauce (15 oz or larger)
- Canned chicken (10 oz)
- Canned tuna (5 oz)
- Canned peaches, pears or fruit cocktail (15 oz)
- Creamy peanut butter (15 oz plastic jar)
- Canned corn or green beans (15 oz)
- Vegetable oil (24 or 48 oz)
- Cereal (Cheerios, Rice Krispies, Frosted Mini Wheats)
- Shampoo and conditioner (21 oz)
- Deodorant (standard size)
- Body wash (20 oz)

We are unable to accept:
- Food in badly damaged or opened packaging, or food that has been repackaged
- Expired food items
- Homemade food items
- Restaurant/commercial sized food items (Faith Mission and CHOICES can accept)
- Non-food items including appliances, furniture, housewares, clothing, toys or books
