As part of the Lutheran Social Services’ Network of Hope, our mission is to create a better world by serving people in need. We live out our faith by providing nourishment and other resources to individuals and families in need.

At the LSS Food Pantries we offer the following services:
- Choice Food Pantry: We provide a choice food pantry model, empowering our clients to select their own food.
- LSS Mobile Food Pantry and Produce Distributions: We bring shelf-stable groceries and/or fresh produce directly to residents in need in 12 Ohio counties.

Give NowDaniel and Kelly’s Story
A job change for Daniel led him and his wife, Kelly, to the LSS Food Pantries. Their first trips involved visiting a LSS storefront pantry, but now they’ve made the transition to LSS’ new online ordering system. They appreciate the ease of the online system and the fact they don’t have to wait in line very long to pick up their order at a nearby parks and recreation center. Whatever the method though, they are grateful that with LSS’ help, they don’t have to choose between rent, electric and food. Kelly and Daniel and their two children, ages ten and seven, especially enjoy the LSS Food Pantries’ selection of fresh produce because otherwise they couldn’t afford to buy it in a grocery store. They say fresh produce makes cooking and eating healthy and easy.

Evelyn has volunteered at the Champion Ave pantry for more than three years. She says that she volunteers to give back to her community to "help those who are food insecure" and because she wants "to make a difference in the lives of others." Thank you, Evelyn!

Volunteer Week continues as we highlight the wonderful volunteers who serve at our mobile food pantries. More than 680 families have been served so far this month at our distributions in Athens, Gallia, Guernsey, Meigs and Noble counties. Thank you all for your dedication!
