LSS The Good Shepherd is proud to be Ashland County’s premier provider of specialized care to individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
Our Program
This unique program provides creative, optimistic and dignified care to residents who are experiencing memory challenges. Designed to meet the sensitive needs of this population, our individualized approach incorporates family members and residents in a partnership of care giving. We work hard to create a safe environment that affords residents the opportunity to not only feel at home but thrive on a secured unit with a secured outdoor courtyard.
Our specially trained memory care staff provide Alzheimer’s and dementia care services in a dignified and caring manner. The Good Shepherd’s memory care team have received Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) training and certifications. We offer patients innovative therapy tools including the award-winning Tovertafel “magic table” that uses interactive games scientifically proven to stimulate physical activity, social interaction and cognition. The memory care team members are especially well prepared to care for those with memory impairments.
Music and Memory
The Good Shepherd is certified as a provider of the Music and Memory program. This certification ensures families that their loved ones in our Windsor Abbey Memory Care Program will have access to the therapeutic benefits of personalized music playlists, delivered on iPods and other digital devices. These musical favorites tap deep memories not lost to Alzheimer’s and dementia and can bring residents back to life, enabling them to feel like themselves again, to converse, socialize and stay present. This program marks our commitment to dignified, personalized care.
