Every day, we help people experiencing homelessness in Fairfield County with emergency shelter services, veterans services, sober living and more. Emergency Shelter<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Located at 1681 E Main Street in Lancaster, the shelter offers a secure environment for people experiencing homelessness in an emergency walk-in basis. Since 1987, we have provided shelter, food and personal hygiene items and other basic needs while helping individuals with access to longer term solutions such as housing, employment assistance, counseling and support groups. The shelter serves up to 24 individuals each night.

The shelter also offers the following services to help clients move from homelessness to self-sufficiency: case management, budgeting, planning and goal setting.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Permanent Supportive Housing<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Fairhaven Place is one of Fairfield County\u2019s few permanent supportive housing complexes. It is also located at 1681 E. Main Street in Lancaster and offers furnished, single-room occupancy apartments. Each apartment has a kitchen, bathroom and living area.

Upon move-in, weekly meetings are planned with case managers who help clients develop and follow weekly goal plans. Case managers work with these individuals to help them maintain self-sufficiency. Supportive services are offered to help clients with budgeting, employment readiness and housing assistance.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Veterans Services<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

On-site services for veterans include a shelter and transitional housing, which are used as a short term stay while the veteran is working towards permanent housing.

While in our programs, residents work on medical issues, personal finances and obtaining employment in order to move to permanent, stable housing. Classes are offered teaching life skills such as budgeting, shopping, cooking and cleaning.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Supportive Services for Veteran Families<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This program helps veteran families in Fairfield, Hocking, Perry, Ross, Fayette, Pickaway, Highland, Adams and Brown counties obtain stable housing, whether they are currently homeless or on the verge of becoming homeless. Families work with case managers to provide needed temporary financial assistance, linkage with community and Veterans Affairs benefits and a plan to improve their housing stability.

The sober living program provides a safe environment centered on peer support and connection to services for adults who are experiencing homelessness and have drug or alcohol issues.\u00a0 The program can last for up to a year, and participants receive intensive case management to overcome their barriers for permanent housing.
